Participants will tag along on our journey within the School District of Janesville moved from sit-and-get instruction to student-driven learning. We will discuss the trials and tribulations of our three-year learning experience. We will share the tools/strategies that we have used to maximize the learning of each student. Student successes, work. and learning outcomes will be shared. The focus will also be placed on how we are trying to scale UDL practices from one grade level to other grade levels within our school building and district.

Mrs. Amy Garwell is a special education teacher in the School District of Janesville. She works within the regular education setting to support the needs of students with disabilities focusing on the principles of Universal Design for Learning.

Jason Schiltz

Regular Education Teacher, School District of Janesville
Mr. Jason Schiltz is a fifth grade, regular education teacher within the School District of Janesville. He focuses on the strengths and needs of all students and is working to implement Universal Design for Learning at Washington Elementary School.
