Come learn more about the vital relationship between UDL and culturally responsive teaching. In the UDL framework, we account for what our students know by activating and/or providing necessary prior knowledge. Students' funds of knowledge is how and why they know what they know, which comes from their cultures, families, and communities. When teachers understand the complexities of culture and access and honor students' funds of knowledge effectively, we can provide not only multiple, but more meaningful means of engagement, representation, and action and expression.
